It begaining to look a lot like nothing!

This off season was to be the best since the Braves brought in Maddux before the 93 season.  Early on in the weeks after the World Series the Braves and Padres were in talks about sending a Cy Young winner for a package of players highlighted by Yunel and other prospects.  Well the Braves did not want to give up another arm from the minors so the Braves and Padres went back and forth for a couple of weeks and nothing came of it.  So the Braves have upwards of $40 million to spend this year so here is the backup plan,  Ryan Dempster of the Cubs and A.J. Burnett.  Well Dempster signed an extension with the Cubs so that left the Braves with one viable option Burnett.  Everyone knew that the Braves have no pitching so they can actually bid dollar for dollar with them, exactly what the Yankees did.  Here is what the Braves actually did do, they sent one too many prospects for a below fife hundred pitcher for the south-siders.  The Braves went back and forth with one team for a established ace and then turn around and send one of the best prospects among others for a number five?  The Braves upper management must not have seen last season play out in their own ballpark.  Right now we have Jorge and a number five starter.  You can pencil anyone else in where you want to but who is going to head up the rotation?   I know who….. The $40 million dollars you have in the bank, that is who!  I have been on Wren’s side up to now.  If you have the opportunity to get an ace you get him, if you have the chance to bring in a number one from free agency with the cash you have you don’t get beat out by just a million or so.  Right now the Braves are the biggest losers in my book in the off season regardless what the experts say.  If you have the ability to get what you need do not let someone to slide in and beat you out.  Let’s not forget they need an outfielder.

I agree with you guys I think wren isn’t getting the job done. I know shurholtz was a little slow some times but I think he could get things done when it came down to it. Great show thanks for having Jeremy on he’s good, I also have missed Bert the past couple of weeks and it was good to hear him too. With this trio ya’ll are bound to be famous.
