Hi guys, I listened to #43 adn I'll refine my pitching decision to say we need quality bullpen help! Check the ERA of most the guys, it's horrible and must be fixed. Outside of Gonzalez, Ohman and Carlyle the rest should be sent away. Living here in Panama City Skip WAS the Braves and I miss him badly and wish I could come up for the cermonies on Tuesday.

I know this is a little off topic, but it is with a deeply saddened heart that write about the loss of Skip Caray. As a Braves fan for my entire life, Skip Caray has been a major part of my life. Whether it was on the Superstation TBS, or on WSB and WGST radio, I have listened to Skip as the voice of Braves game after Braves game with great call after great call, witty line after witty line. Skip Caray is a true legend of the game. A major part of Atlanta Braves history, from the rough days of the 1970s and 1980s, to the glory days of the 1990s and 2000s. Baseball has lost a true great of the game. He will be missed greatly.

So long, Skip.

I am excited about the Texeira trade. We took a gamble last year and it did not pay off. We were not going to be able to resign him in the off season and got a good young first baseman who we will not have to re sign until 2011. Now lets make a couple more moves get some young pitching in here and look forward to February 09 when pitchers and catchers report. Things are going to start going in the right direction now.

Given the news of Hudson's elbow, McCann's concussion and our general funk I think we are done for this year. It is time to plan for next year and beyond. Figure out how much money we can spend (more I hope) and our needs. We will need quality starting pitching and outfield bats!
